H. Hinz received the diploma degree in electrical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Aachen and the Ruhr University, Bochum in Germany in the years 1990 and 1994 respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University, Darmstadt in Germany in 2000. Between 1999 and 2009, he was with General Motors Fuel Cell Activities, most recently as project leader for the development of high voltage systems for fuel cell vehicles. In 2009, he was appointed as a Professor for power electronics at the University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt in Germany. Since 2011, he has been the head of the electrical power engineering study program. From 2010 to 2016, he was a visiting professor at the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His research interests are in the areas power electronics for electric vehicles and renewable energy; electrical energy storage and distributed power generation.

In October 2010, he graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a doctorate degree in Power System and automation. Mar. 2014 -- Mar. 2015, Visiting Scholar/Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark, engaged in hierarchical and coordinated control of intelligent microgrid. Research on flexible grid-connection technology and power quality control of photovoltaic, wind power and other new energy systems, and control strategy of power electronic devices based on DSPACE and RTDS real-time simulation system. He is also a senior member of IEEE, a member of IEEE Society of Industrial Electronics/Society of Power Electronics/Society of Power and Energy/Society of Industrial Applications, a member of the European Society of Power Electronics (EPE), and a senior member of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering/Chinese Society of Electrotechnical Engineering/Chinese Society of Power Sources. Member of Power Quality Special Committee/DC Power Special Committee/New Energy Transformation Special Committee/Youth Working Committee of China Power Supply Society, member of Sichuan Power Supply Society, member/director of Sichuan Power Electronics Society. Served as the editorial board member of the foreign SCI Journal Journal of Power Electronics.

Farhad Shahnia (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor with Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 articles in the area of application and control of power electronic converters in distribution systems and microgrids. He currently holds the position of the IEEE Western Australia Section Chair.

Sohrab Mirsaeidi received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2016. Subsequently, he furthered his studies as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, China from 2016 to 2019. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), China. Sohrab Mirsaeidi has published 80+ papers and 2 books in the field of Microgrids and Large-Scale Power Systems. He is a Member of the National Technical Committee of Measuring Relays and Protection Equipment Standardization of China, and has presided over and participated in several national research projects in China. He is an Editorial Board Member for several international journals and a Regular Reviewer for IEEE Transactions journals. He has also served as Chair, Keynote/Invited Speaker, and Committee Member in 80+ international conferences. His main research interests include Control and Protection of Large-Scale Hybrid AC/DC Grids and Microgrids, Application of Power Electronics in Power Systems, and Deployment of Artificial Intelligence in Power System Analysis. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), and a Member of IET and CIGRE.
